Government brings Xiaomi Supplier Investment Summit to Andhra Pradesh

Xiaomi, India’s no. 1 smartphone brand led its Supplier Investment Summit delegation to the state of Andhra Pradesh. The delegation of 50+ global Xiaomi component suppliers visited Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, last fortnight where they were hosted by the State Government including Chief Minister Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu. With the purpose of exploring investment opportunities, the suppliers visited potential locations for establishing manufacturing units in the state. They also paid a visit to the manufacturing facilities of Foxconn in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh including the recently announced plants in the state, dedicated towards manufacturing of smartphones for Xiaomi. The suppliers were also addressed by Minister of Information Technology, Mr. Nara Lokesh, where they spent time discussing electronics manufacturing industry opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, said, “Andhra Pradesh is one of the youngest pioneering states of India. The state has a young entrepreneurial spirit and poses an attractive destination for similar minded companies. Our state of the art infrastructural offerings make Andhra Pradesh an exciting investment opportunity for all of Xiaomi’s global suppliers and we hope their visit to the state is extremely productive.” Mr. Manu Jain, Vice President, Xiaomi Global and Managing Director, Xiaomi India said: “We would like to thank Andhra Pradesh state government for a warm welcome and their continued support towards our ‘Make in India’ program.
