Maruti Suzuki eyeing 15% growth: Muneesh Bali

Visakhapatnam:  Maruti Suzuki launched its much awaited ‘Ciaz’ nationally earlier this month. India’s leading car manufacture in terms of Volume has been eagerly looking forward to this launch as surprisingly Maruti Suzuki hasnt comprehensively been present in the A3 sedan segment. ‘The Sedan segment was weak for us hence now with Ciaz we are there with a bang’ says the  Regional Manager for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Mr Muneesh Bali. The company is banking heavily that this new launch of theirs will be well received by compact cars owners.
Speaking exclusively to Vizag Industrial Scan, Maruti Suzuki, Regional Manager Mr Muneesh Bali, stated that the company had received 10000 bookings a month prior to its launch. ‘We received these impressive numbers of bookings even before people had actually seen the car’ says Mr Bali.
He further said that this car has much significance keeping in mind that Ciaz’s global launch happened first in India and also that it is indigenously manufactured at its Manesar plant. ‘This is in line with the PM’s Make in India initiative and Maruti since long has been manufacturing in India’ he says.
Designed keeping in mind the aspirations of a mid-size premium sedan customer the Ciaz offers European styling, premium rich interiors and a host of upmarket features.
Talking on the car’s fuel efficiency he says ‘Ciaz has the Highest Fuel efficiency across any car segment in India’.
Albeit he dint give any specific numbers on the production capacity of Ciaz he says that going forward the production numbers will be ramped depending upon the demand. The car’s introductory price ex showroom Vizag starts from Rs8.4 lakhs to Rs10.2 lakhs approximately in the diesel variant and Rs.7.4 lakhs to Rs9.7 lakhs approximately in the petrol variant
The begining to this fiscal has been encouraging for Maruti Suzuki as it has seen a growth of 16-17% in its passenger’s car sales. ‘This year has been good for us wherein our market share increased by 6% and now crossed 40%’ says Mr Bali. The company was the first to cross a million car sales last year and expects a growth of 15% for FY’14-15.
Stating the AP and Telangana region to be important to Maruti Suzuki’s sales he informs that these two states contribute about 6-7% of the overall Maruti Suzuki sales in the country.
