A high level team from the steel ministry visited RINL wherein it toure major production units including expansion & modernization works like Coke Ovens, Blast Furnace, Steel Melt Shop and Rolling Mills etc.
The officials visiting from Delhi included Mr Binoy Kumar, IAS,Secretary, to GOI, Ministry of Steel, Ms Ruchika Chaudhry Govil, Joint Secretary, MOS, Mr Neeraj Agrawal, Director, MOS and Mr SK Singh, Under Secretary, MOS.
Vizag steel plant’s CMD Mr PK Rath made a presentation to the visiting team where he apprised them of the latest technological advancements incorporated into the plant during the expansion and modernization works.
The Steel Secretary commended RINL for registering an all-round performance and growth in all areas of its operations and for achieving highest sales turnover of Rs 20,844 crores during 2018-19.
He stated that the RINL collective had the potentiality and capability to deliver in times of crisis and difficulties. He advised the management to focus and put their best efforts for reduction of carbon emissions and cost reduction of production. He also advised for maximum usage of government-e portal (GeM) for competitive procurement.
Later, the Steel Secretary and his team interacted with the representatives of Steel Executive Association, trade unions, SC&ST, OBC Associations and WIPS. Observing that RINL is an eco-friendly and beautiful plant he exhorted them to work with dedication and commitment to scale up the operations and ramp up production in order to reach newer heights in the Steel Industry.
