The government has issued guidelines for integration of all ports with single desk portal and implementation of EoDB in SMARTPORT services for bringing more transparency, accountability and corruption free environment.
With this AP has become the first state to bring port related services into the ease of doing business parameter.
‘Port related services were not under the EoDB ambit anywhere in India, thereby making AP the first state to issue a GO in this regard’ said Dr Rajat Bhargava, IAS Principal Secretary Industry,
Infrastructure, Investment and Commerce Department, GoAP speaking to Vizag Industrial Scan.
It is informed that in the earlier system there were many deficiencies that were observed even in the online services such as invoice being raised by the department manually for estimation of fee, services not following standard operating procedures, service processes dint have defined timelines etc.
The government has henceforth taken a decision that some of the online services will be tracked through the SDP(Single desk portal) and be covered under the PSDGA to ensure hassle free, transparent, accountable and speedy service delivery in the port services to augment the trade and export promotion in the state.
