Emphasising the importance of logistics and the significant role it plays in bringing economic prosperity Mr. Karikal Valaven, IAS stated that the GoAP has a keen focus on setting up multi modal logistic parks across the state.
‘GoAP wants to support logistics in a big way. We are planning for multi modal logistics parks in 3 key districts i.e. Anantapur, Kurnool and Kadapa’ stated the Special Chief Secretary Industries & Commerce, Infrastructure&Investment Department while virtually addressing the second CII logistics summit.
He further stated that 5% of the country’s exports come from the state of AP and that we should aim at enhancing this number.

He also stressed on enhancing coastal shipping and inland waterways. ‘With 4 non major ports upcoming in our state coastal shipping will get a boost. Similarly inland waterways too need to be looked upon’ said Mr Valaven.
Talking on the states’ new industrial policy he stated that the policy was brought out to reduce the cost of doing business in the state. ‘The Very purpose of our industrial policy is to reduce costs of business’ said Mr Valaven.
Hailing YSR AP one he said that it is the highlight of the state’s new Industrial policy and a one stop shop for investor facilitation.
He also spoke on the importance of Air cargo and setting up adequate facilities for the same.
‘Air cargo facilities will be needed closer to Tirupati and Kadapa for the EMC clusters the state is setting up’ said the special chief secretary.
