Mr Natarajan Chandrasekaran the illustrious chairman of Tata Sons was recently in the city of destiny to speak at the Andhra University’s Alumni association annual meeting.

Addressing the gathering Mr Chandrasekaran evinced utmost optimism on India’s growth story and said that the country shall continue to possess gargantuan opportunities going forward.

‘India will be on a high growth trajectory for many decades to come and this shall present many opportunities for youth’ noted Mr Chandrasekaran.

Terming India as the talent capital for Digital he stressed on the need to harness that talent to our potential.

Stating that an enormous amount of scientific and technological advancement is needed in various fields he highlighted Energy transition, digital transformation, advance manufacturing, technology in new materials among others as areas of work.

TCS Chairman also called upon universities to play a critical role in shaping India’s growth trajectory.

‘Universities need to play a critical role in India’s growth ahead. We need more IP, innovation and research coming out of our country’ said Mr Chandrasekaran.

Asked about cybersecurity he said that more awareness needs to be there on this subject and that companies need to fully understand its potential and also highlighted the vast opportunity this sector holds for young professionals.

‘There is more than 50% shortage in cyber security professionals. A lot of talent is required in this area’ said the TCS chief.

Mr Chandrasekaran also lauded AU’s alumni association for creating an alumni network like this.

He opined that there needs to be a strong bonding with alumni as alumni have a lot of affinity with institutions so tapping into this network can be very beneficial.

‘One of the reasons that the west is prosperous is the successful network they have created among alumni, university and industry’ said the TCS chairman. GMR Group Chairman Mr G. Mallikarjuna Rao, president of the AU Alumni Association, along with few others, also spoke.
