Makes mega pitch to Investors
The government of Andhra Pradesh made a concerted and grandiose pitch to investors and leading aerospace companies to come invest in AP at the 2nd International Conference and Exhibition on Aerospace Manufacturing held in Visakhapatnam recently.
Organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) in partnership with the Ministry of Civil Aviation the conference titled “From Components to Competitiveness: Accelerating Aerospace Manufacturing & MRO in India”, brought together senior policymakers, global OEMs, MSMEs, and academia to shape AP’s aerospace roadmap.
The event spotlighted Andhra Pradesh’s Aerospace & Defence Policy 4.0 (2025–2030), unveiled during the Plenary Session on Andhra Pradesh’s Aerospace & MRO Vision.
The state government has announced ambitious targets of Rs 1 lakh crore in investments and creation of 100,000 jobs, driven by specialized aerospace clusters, R&D hubs, and the Bhogapuram Aerotropolis project.
“I can assure you Andhra Pradesh is the best place for the Aerospace and MRO industry to thrive and grow in. Our team is a good mix of experience and youth who can assist you throughout your project.
We will be developing AP’s aerospace hub with world-class infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and strong partnerships with global OEMs. We are committed to making Andhra Pradesh the gateway to India’s aerospace future” said AP’s minister for IT & HRD Mr Nara Lokesh.
Citing examples of speed of doing business, the IT minister told investors that the current government under the leadership of Mr N Chandrababu Naidu means business and it is just not about ease but speed of doing business.
Taking centre stage India’s union minister for civil aviation, Mr Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, lauded AP’s Aerospace and Defence policy.
“Having seen other states’ policies I can tell you for a fact that AP’s policy is one of the best in the country. This is the right time and the right place to invest in this sector” said Mr Ram Mohan Naidu.
Similarly, Vizag’s Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Mr M Sri Bharath said that through sustained innovation and strategic investment, India is rapidly positioning itself alongside the global leaders in aerospace.
Ms Suchitra Ella, Vice president, CII And Cofounder and Managing director, Bharat Bio tech international Ltd during her Address said “India’s aerospace future depends on innovation, indigenous capabilities, and strong public–private collaboration” Mr. Salil Gupte, Chairman, CII National Committee on Aerospace Manufacturing, said “For India to lead in aerospace manufacturing, we must build resilient supply chains and embrace digital technologies as the backbone of future innovation.”
Mr. Vikram Rai, Vice Chair, CII National Committee on Aerospace Manufacturing, added “India can become a global aerospace manufacturing hub by focusing on R&D, safety, quality, and cost management.
