World Bank officials meet GVMC Commissioner

In view of the development of the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, World Bank representatives Mr. JonesMr. Abhijit Roy, and Ms. Jyoti Nayak today met with Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr Ketan Garg at GVMC Head Office.

As per GVMC they held detailed discussions on various development-related issues.

It was informed that in the meeting, the Commissioner discussed with the delegation several developmental initiatives proposed within the GVMC limits, including infrastructure creation and major projects aimed at directly benefiting the public while addressing future urban requirements.

The Commissioner explained the need for formulating long-term development plans to strengthen infrastructure in line with the city’s growing population and expanding industrial and economic activities, while also ensuring improved civic services for residents.

Both sides also exchanged views on World Bank support for the development of Visakhapatnam as an Economic Region City, including aspects related to technical assistance, funding support, and the effective utilization of financial resources for developmental projects.

Additional Commissioner (Finance) Mr S.S. Varma, Smart City CEO Anand, Visco Consultant Mr K.V.N. Ravi, along with other officials participated in the review meeting.
