SIFY’s chairman minced no words in lauding AP’s IT minister, Mr Nara Lokesh for his clarity of thought and his vision for creating a robust IT and digital infrastructure for the state.
He in fact credited him for playing a major role in getting SIFY to the state of AP. “My coming here has a lot to do with Minister Lokesh’s high energy levels and his continuous follow up with us.
This is something that really impressed and resonated with me. His passion for doing more for the state and his steadfast commitment for bringing the best digital infrastructure for AP coupled with his speed of doing business is what got us here” said Mr Raju Vegesna, Chairman, Sify during the foundation laying stone for Visakhapatnam’s First AI Edge Data Center and Open Cable Landing Station.
Speaking on the company’s expertise in data centres he said that the company has a 250 MW campus in Mumbai, 130 MW in Noida and 130 MW in Chennai.
“We are the first guys that brought data centers into India 25 years ago. We are one of the only 2 companies that have been listed on NASDAQ for the past 25 years” informed Mr Raju.
Speaking on his plans for AP he said that he has a mega vision for Vizag which goes beyond what they have built in their state-of-the-art campus in Mumbai.
He however also said that setting up data centres is not an easy task as a lot of hard work and compliance is gone into getting these centres.
In addition, he said that there is an overall need to develop a holistic ecosystem with proper infrastructure for getting more such projects like these here. “We want to do a lot of things for Vizag” said the Chairman.
