The Government of Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to administrative transparency, accountability, and digital service delivery has earned two significant recognitions.
The State’s Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department has been conferred the prestigious SKOCH Silver Award for its fully transparent and rule-based Media Accreditation Management System.
Similarly, the AP Digital Corporation Limited secured the Gold SKOCH Award in the Digital and Social Media Marketing category for “Quantum Valley, Amaravati.”
The awards were presented at the 109th SKOCH Summit, held recently in New Delhi at India Habitat Centre.
Accreditation Process
The I&PR Department’s Media Accreditation Management System was recognised under the Governance category for achieving unprecedented transparency in the media accreditation process. The award was received on behalf of the I&PR Department by Joint Director Mr I. Suryachandra Rao and R.I.E. Dr. Nagaraja.
The AP Digital Corporation’s Gold Award was accepted by Digital Corporation ED Rani Susmita and Special Officer Seshu Kumar.
Under the able guidance of Director of I&PR, Mr. Viswanathan, the department successfully digitised the entire accreditation process, eliminating delays and ensuring strict adherence to regulations without any recommendations or external influence.
Key Reforms
Some of the Key reforms include Online application submission to eliminate inconvenience to media representatives, Technology-enabled rapid verification of applications, Timely issuance of accreditations to eligible journalists, Zero tolerance for delays or procedural lapses.
This systematic approach ensured that every eligible journalist received fair and timely consideration, setting a benchmark for transparency in media accreditation across the country.
The SKOCH official records have documented Andhra Pradesh’s digital accreditation system as a model of transparency.
Gold Award for Digital Excellence
The AP Digital Corporation Limited, functioning under the I&PR Department, won the Gold SKOCH Award for its work on “Quantum Valley, Amaravati” in the Digital and Social Media Marketing category.
This recognition highlights the state’s growing prowess in digital governance and innovative communication strategies.
Speaking on the occasion, I&PR Department Director Mr. Viswanathan expressed pride in the twin achievements, stating that these national awards reflect the dedicated efforts of the entire I&PR team.
He emphasised that the accolades are not just a departmental victory but a recognition of the collective commitment and hard work of every team member who worked tirelessly to make the accreditation and digital initiatives successful.
Director Viswanathan reaffirmed the department’s commitment to further strengthening transparent governance and delivering even better services to the public in the future.
