Speed is wonderful but speed in the right direction is what matters: Dy. CM
Andhra Pradesh’s deputy chief minister and founder of Jana Sena party, Mr Pawan Kalyan has assured industry all his support in developing Kakinada and the state by creating jobs and bringing much needed investments.
“A company that makes profits benefits society through the taxes it pays which in turn helps create necessary infrastructure like schools, roads, bridges etc.” said the deputy CM speaking at the 31st CII Partnership Summit -2026, Regional Conference held at JNTU Kakinada today.
He however called upon industry to work upon a ‘win-win-win’ situation which benefits all the key stakeholders.
“An economy should not be a mere scoreboard i.e. how much investments, jobs etc. It should be a tool that makes the lives of the people around it better too.
Every great enterprise must pass 3 tests i.e. did the people gain, did the industry gain and did the planet gain. If your answer is yes in all 3 then you have built something that lasts. It is these businesses that then survive the test of time” opined Mr Pawan Kalyan.
He cited Singapore and Switzerland as great examples wherein government and industry worked together with a common goal in mind.
“Build but also protect our land and water that makes this region what it is. Our Mangroves, coastline, rivers are not just decorations” cautioned Mr Pawan Kalyan.
The deputy minister also urged industry to be innovative which can help not only industry but society at large.
“Government can build roads, ports, policies but cannot create a culture of invention and innovation. Industry has to lead innovation. There are Billion-dollar opportunities in Kakinada which, if industry can solve, can help many other regions too” said Mr Pawan Kalyan.
He further asked industry to give more than jobs and establish centres of excellence, R&D labs, tinkering labs etc.
“Speed is wonderful but speed in the right direction is what matters. Let’s build a Swarna Andhra Pradesh where Profit and Purpose walk together” concluded the deputy chief minister.
At the regional conference 15 companies signed MoUs worth Rs 4256 crores with a potential to create 14261 jobs.
