AMUL’s largest ice-cream mfg. unit to come up in Chittoor

CM lays stone for Rs.385 crore ‘Amul Chittoor Dairy’

The Chief Minister Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy recently laid the foundation stone for ‘Amul Chittoor Dairy’ in Chittoor. Amul is going to invest Rs.385 crore to revive the defunct unit and set up the largest ice-cream manufacturing industry.

Mr. Jagan during his padayatra, assured for its reopening and now handed it over to the management of AMUL.

Later addressing a public meeting the Chief Minister said that the government has paid Rs. 182 crore debts of the dairy and entered an agreement with the Amul to revive the defunct industry. 

It will also produce various milk products like cheese, butter, ice-creams, etc. after its revival.

The CM later headed to lay stones for the CMC hospital and college building at Cheerlapalli on the outskirts of Chittoor. 

Ministers Mr. Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy,   K. Narayana Swamy, Ms RK Roja, Ms. Usha Sricharan, Mr. Sidiri Appalaraju, Chittoor MLA Mr. J. Srinivasulu, Collector Shan Mohan and others were present.
