AP inks 31 MoUs worth over Rs 21K crs in a single day

Andhra most favourable destination for investments in South East Asia: Rammohan Naidu

Leading up to the much-touted 31st CII partnership summit to be held in November the government of Andhra Pradesh today held the first of the 5 Regional Conferences in the city of Visakhapatnam.

The conference turned out to be a mega day for investments as the government inked 31 MoUs worth a staggering Rs 21,498 crore with the potential to create 56,945 jobs.

In addition, 33 projects worth Rs 3,518.73 crore were grounded or inaugurated, with the potential to create 9,449 jobs: 8 SIPB projects, 3 tourism projects and 22 MSME units.

“Industry is no longer merely looking at Andhra Pradesh but is strongly betting on the state of Andhra Pradesh. AP has moved onto a very different trajectory in the last 2 years. The centre and state government are working in tandem and have a great relationship” said the chief guest on the occasion Mr Ram Mohan Naidu, India’s civil aviation minister while addressing the gathering.

He informed that AP has attracted over Rs 14 lakh crores in investment proposals over 216 mega projects.

“Andhra today has become the most favourable destination for investments in South East Asia” opined the civil aviation minister.

Highlighting some of the major projects that have come into North Andhra he spoke of the google project, AMNS, NTPC green hydrogen and many others.

Some Big MoUs

Some of the big projects that inked MoUs today included Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd for a proposed investment of Rs 5000 crores in Anakapalli district, Oriana Power limited for Rs 4500 crores in Kurnool district, Granules India Limited for Rs 4000 crore in Anakapalli, Renew Photovoltaics for Rs 1500 crores also in Anakapalli, SMS colab for Rs 1072 crores in Vizianagaram district.

A total of 31 MoUs were signed today.

Mr T G Bharath, Minister for Industries & Commerce and Food Processing, highlighted the state’s speed of doing business and said that the state is fully committed in grounding investments and not just putting them on paper.

“The State’s focus has been on converting commitments into projects on the ground” , said the industry minister.

Giving a visual presentation on AP’s investment portfolio over the last 2 years Dr N Yuvaray, IAS Secretary Industries and commerce and Food Processing Department said that since June 2024, Andhra Pradesh has built a pipeline of 714 projects worth Rs 22.6 lakh crore, with the potential to create 19.3 lakh jobs.

“Of these, 473 projects worth Rs 16.6 lakh crore, with the potential to create 12.3 lakh jobs, have been converted with Government Orders issued” , said Dr Yuvaraj.

He further added that 247 projects worth Rs 4.7 lakh crore have been grounded, with the potential to create 7.1 lakh jobs.

By the end of October, the number of grounded projects will rise to 310, worth Rs 7 lakh crore, with the potential to create 7.9 lakh jobs. The State aims to convert 80% of all commitments.

Foundation Stones/Inaugurations

A total of 33 companies today laid the foundation stones/inaugurated their facilities. Some of the big names in these included Berry Alloys which is coming up in Vizianagaram with an investment of Rs 1200 crores, Ecobox Industrial asset in Visakhapatnam with an investment of Rs 1008 crores, Ramuka Global ecowork in Anakapalli with a proposed investment of Rs 193 crores and many others.

Speaking on the AP’s Road infrastructure, Minister Mr B.C. Janardhan Reddy informed investors that the state has a total road network of 1.6 lakh km out of which 8,360 kms are national highways.

He noted that Road projects worth more than Rs 1 lakh crore are currently under construction and DPR stages in the state.

“In the last two years, AP has stood third at the national level by constructing 1,530 km of national highways at a cost of about Rs 24,000 crore under the auspices of NHAI. We are setting up 4 multi-modal logistics parks, 6 integrated logistics parks, 22 truck terminals and 300 cold chain centres in private partnership,” said the minister.

IIM Director Prof. M. Chandrasekhar and the host of the event gave a detailed presentation on the institute and the path it has covered over the past 10 years.

The program was also attended by Vizag MP Mr M Sribharat, MLA Mr Vishnu Kumar Raju, CII Andhra Pradesh Chairman Mr Narendra Kumar Saranam, CII past chairman Mr Muralikrishna Gannamneni, Mr Sambasiva Rao and others.

The 31st CII Partnership Summit 2026 will be held in Visakhapatnam on 12 and 13 November 2026, under the theme “Navigating the New World Order: Trade, Technology, Trust and Thought Leadership.”
