Another Japanese company lays trust in Sri City

Rs 100 cr facility to produce steel Press Parts & coils for AC & Automobile Mfg. sectors

Neemrana Steel Service Centre India (NSSI) recently inaugurated its state-of-the-art heat-resistant steel press parts and coils manufacturing facility in Sri City.

The facility, commissioned by Tokyo-based Nippon Steel Trading Corporation, is built on 5 acres in the Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ), with an initial investment of around Rs. 100 crores.

Commissioned in a short span of 9 months the plant produces steel press parts and coils for air conditioning and automobile manufacturing sectors, with a production capacity of 84,000 metric tonnes/annum.

As per an official release from Sri City the plant will create employment opportunities for around 200 people and will serve important customers like Daikin and other major AC brands and automobile manufacturers in Sri City. 

Founded in 1977, Nippon Steel Trading Corp. operates in various sectors including steel, raw fuel, and industrial machinery.

Its subsidiary, Neemrana Steel Service Center India established in 2011 is a plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan, specialised in steel processing services, including cutting, slitting, and flattening steel sheets and coils, catering to various industries, including automotive and white goods.

The inauguration event witnessed a welcome address by Mr. Hiroshi Ito, Managing Director while the Consulate General of Japan in Chennai Mr. Masayuki Taga took part as the Chief Guest. 

Mr. Masayuki Taga expressed satisfaction with the presence of numerous Japanese companies in Sri City, highlighting it as a secure location for expats, particularly Japanese nationals, and thanked Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy for his excellent support and also the dynamic Andhra Pradesh Government headed by Mr. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy

Congratulating the entire team on the commissioning of plant Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy said, “We have a very high share of hosting manufacturing units in automobile and air conditioners manufacturing sectors, and we are immensely happy as yet another company that supports these sectors goes on-stream.”

Neemrana Steel will certainly enhance the symbiotic ecosystem in Sri City, with the presence of several major AC brands and their supply chain companies, by 2026 more than 50% of AC machines produced in the country are estimated to be from Sri City. 

Stating that Sri City is an ideal place for doing business Mr. Shinichi Nakamura said that their plant will supply steel pressed and stamped components to clients in south India and will soon start a skill development centre to train local youth.
