Bangladesh’s Dy HC calls on Mayor

Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner Mr Shelley Salihin paid a courtesy call on the city’s Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari at the GVMC headquarters.

During the meeting they discussed various aspects of further development between India and  Bangladesh. 

Specific sectors like education,  tourism, culture, business development, medical tourism and tourism were discussed.

He further highlighted that textile related businesses can be developed between the two countries  and more development programs can be organised. 

The mayor said that efforts are being made for the development of business between the two countries and explained to him that many people of Bangladesh are continuing their businesses in Visakhapatnam and they are also being given permission to do business without any hindrance in terms of Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. 

He expressed hope that after the development of Bhogapuram Airport, there will be more business development between the two countries.

Additionally the Deputy High Commissioner informed that many Bangladeshi students are studying in Andhra University. 

Stating that Bangladesh New Year is celebrated on 14th April , he said Bangladeshi students should be given permission to celebrate at Andhra University.
