In the recently held meeting of the state level bankers committee it was informed that banks have lent (i.e. disbursed) Rs 49,831 crores to MSMEs as against an assigned yearly target of Rs 128,000 crores for Q1FY26.

This marks a 39% achievement of their set target amount. It might be noted here that these figures are only for the first 3 months of the current fiscal i.e. the first quarter of FY26(April, May, June).

If one had to break up these advances between micro, small and medium enterprises the numbers would stack as follows Micro enterprises getting Rs 20,839 crores, small enterprises with Rs 16,999 crores, medium enterprises with Rs 11,924 crores and others with Rs 70 crores.

Similarly, disbursements for the 1st quarter of this fiscal (Rs 49,831 crores) registered a growth of 12.86% when compared to the same period last year (Rs 44,150 crores).

Data for the last 3 fiscals show that banks have always end up lending more than their target amounts by the end of the fiscal.

In terms of total advances to MSMEs (i.e. money owed to banks from MSMEs) the number stood at Rs 118,744 crores as of 30th June 2025.

Addressing 232 State Level Bankers committee meeting, Chief Minister Mr N Chandrababu Naidu appealed to bankers to extend cooperation to fulfill the aim of state government towards women empowerment by making one lakh women as women entrepreneurs by March 8, 2026. M Nagaraju, Secretary Union Ministry of Finance said that bankers in Andhra Pradesh performed well when compared to other states.
