CII’s 9 focus Tracks for AP

To help drive towards a competitive and sustainable AP @100

CII Andhra Pradesh Chairman, Dr. M Lakshmi Prasad recently addressed the media wherein he briefed them on the theme of the year for CII Andhra Pradesh i.e. Towards a Competitive and Sustainable Andhra Pradesh@100: Growth, Competitiveness, Sustainability, Globalisation, Building Trust. 

Dr. Prasad spoke about CII’s nine-point agenda comprising (People and culture Rejuvenation; Holistic Sustainability & ESG; Tech Adoption and Digital Transformation; Embracing Energy Transition; Innovation and startup Ecosystem; Manufacturing Excellence: Industry 4.0; Partnerships, Collaboration & International Linkages; MSME’s; Brand Building & Sectoral Promotion).

These focus points he opined will drive businesses to be competitive and sustainable and also spoke about the constitution of CII Andhra Pradesh Panels and Task Forces for the year 2023-24.

‘These sectoral panels & task forces are aligned with the above-mentioned 9 point agenda to guide the CII members and advise the state government’ said the CII AP Chairman.

India’s GDP 

Speaking on the overall Indian economy, he mentioned, that India’s GDP is expected to grow at a rate of 6.5% to 6.7%, with CII envisioning a 7% growth rate. 

With abundant resources and a skilled workforce, India has emerged as a manufacturing hub after China. Dr. Prasad emphasized the need to increase exports and reduce imports. 

He stressed the importance of focusing on manufacturing, and leveraging India’s skilled and cost-effective manpower.

Furthermore, he called upon the youth to embrace innovation and entrepreneurship, encouraging them to explore the vast opportunities in startups.

Addressing the media, Mr. D Rama Krishna, Past Chairman, of CII Andhra Pradesh spoke on the importance of digitization for companies. He highlighted how automation and digitization contribute to increased productivity and enhanced quality, urging businesses to embrace these technologies.

Dr V Murali Krishna, Vice Chairman, CII AP, reiterated CII’s commitment to promoting ethical and profitable business practices among its members. 

With India boasting the highest rate of youth population, he stressed the importance of providing them with the right skills, ensuring India’s ascent to the top of the world’s richest economies. Mr. DV Ravindranath, Vice Chairman, CII Vijayawada also participated.
