Forging US-AP Partnerships

The U.S. Consul General Ms Jennifer Larson recently called upon the Chief Minister Mr Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his Camp Office.

Commenting on her recent visit Consul General Larson said “After just one month on the job I’m pleased to be able to travel to Vijayawada so early in my tenure”. “My conversations with Governor Harichandan and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy underscored  the close and growing ties between the United States and Andhra Pradesh” said the consul general.

The consul general also visited Maris Stella College, which hosts a U.S.-government sponsored English Language Fellow and launched the U.S.

Consulate-sponsored English Access Microscholarship Program for disadvantaged youth.

The Access Microscholarship Program is a U.S. Department of State initiative that provides a foundation of English language skills to talented but economically disadvantaged youth through after-school classes and intensive sessions. Fifty young women will benefit from the initiative over the course of the next two years.

The U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad covers the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha.
