Govt aims for a Self Reliant Def. sector: Cmde Mohan Raju

Delivering an Address at a conclave in Visakhapatnam, Cmde MM Mohan Raju NM, Material Superintendent, Material Organisation highlighted that the Government of India aims to make India self-reliant in defence sector and encourages ease of doing business for Atmanirbhar Bharat. 

He stated that domestic demand of Indian Defence Sector should be fulfilled by Indian manufacturing industries. He urged the Indian industries to focus on production of quality products, on time delivery, and right price and resilient supply chain and to actively participate in adopting innovation and technologies.

Mr. J Srinivasa Raju, Convenor, Defence & Aerospace Panel, CII Andhra Pradesh & Chairman, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), Andhra Pradesh Chapter said that the Government has opened up the Defence industry for private sector participation to provide impetus to indigenous manufacturing.

Cdr Rohit Pratap Singh, Materiel Organisation (Visakhapatnam) made a detailed presentation on Role of Materiel Organization Visakhapatnam and their procurement process. He briefed on how one can become a vendor of Materiel Organization Visakhapatnam.

The conclave was organized by Confederation of Indian Industry- Andhra Pradesh, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers in Partnership with Materiel Organisation Visakhapatnam (Eastern Naval Command).
