GVMC Commissioner urges Startups to work with them

In a recently held Y20 brainstorming session organized by Andhra University Incubation Council (a hub) and TiE Andhra Pradesh discussions were held on the topic “Future of work: Industry 4.0, innovation, and 21st century skills”.

Giving the keynote address Mr. C. M. Saikanth Varma, IAS, Commissioner of GVMC, highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by GVMC to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of city services.

Mr. Saikanth emphasized the importance of sensitivity to local needs, sustainability, and scalability and encouraged young entrepreneurs to submit ideas to GVMC’s Sustainability and Resiliency Unit (SRU), fostering partnerships for technological advancements and city improvement.

Similarly, the guest of honor, Prof. V. Krishna Mohan, Registrar of Andhra University, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of preparing students for the evolving challenges of the new work environment.

He encouraged students to embrace challenges, think outside the box, and shared real-life examples of successful entrepreneurship.

The session also witnessed a panel discussion wherein influential members from Visakhapatnam’s vibrant startup community, provided valuable insights into the future of work and its implications for industry, innovation, and skill development.

The panel discussed important topics such as skills for the future, transitioning to the digital era, resistance to change and digitalization, emphasizing early work experience, and the importance of embracing startup and innovation. 

Mr. Ravi Eswarapu, CEO of a hub along with Mr Srinivas Savaram, Managing Director of Alcove Partners, moderated the panel discussions.
