French Ambassador lauds AP, inaugurates Rs 350 cr French Unit in Vizag

France’s Ambassador to India Mr Emmanuel Lenain applauded the strong bonhomie that exists between the two countries and said that there was a great level of trust that exists between the two countries.

The ambassador who was in Vizag recently to inaugurate the French company, Imerys’s state of the art greenfield manufacturing facility heaped praises on the strong relationship that persists between the two nations.

‘Our Partnership is just outstanding. We’ve been partners with India for a long time both in their good and bad times. We’ve supported and backed India in various international forums’ said Mr Lenain.

Speaking on trade and economic relations the ambassador said that France will be working closely with India on a wide range of sectors and more keenly in making Indian cities sustainable. With massive migration to cities he said Indian cities would need many technological solutions to become sustainable and efficient, thereby hoping French companies could assist India in its mass urbanization needs.

‘Lot of business will happen between France and India going forward’ said Mr Lenain.

The ambassador also lauded India’s unflinching support to France during the Covid-19 pandemic in providing the required medicines.

‘India has been very generous in providing France medicines during the COVID-19 pandemic’ he said.

Hails Andhra Pradesh

Talking on the new facility he hailed the Imerys for having a presence in India for over 30 years and hoped that it would further build on this going forward.

The ambassador was very appreciative of the state government’s support and its administration and called Andhra Pradesh a dynamic state and stated that many French companies would want to invest here.

‘This is a great State of Andhra Pradesh and the government has been very supportive of this investment’ said the ambassador. Imerys, the world leader in mineral-based specialty solutions for industry, has made an investment of Rs 350 crores in its greenfield facility in Atchutapuram close to Visakhapatnam. This facility of calcium aluminate binder is used in the Indian refractory and construction industries.
