JS Bindra takes charge as VPA’s new Chairperson

Visakhapatnam Port Authority today welcomed its new chairman, Mr J.S.Bindra, IRTS.

An IRTS officer of 1996 batch Mr Bindra has varied experience in Railway Operations, Commercial & Safety Departments and wide-ranging experience in logistics and transportation sector.

He was hitherto serving as Principal Chief Operations Manager, South East Central Railway at Bilaspur.
Mr Bindra has earlier also been the Divisional Railway Manager, Ranchi from 2023 to 2025 and thereafter served as ED/Gati Shakti, Railway Board, New Delhi.

In addition, he has had a five-year stint as Director in the Ministry of Coal and was the Government nominee on the Board of Directors of MCL & SCCL.

A BTech in Electronics Engineering from NIT Jalandhar, with an MBA from GNDU Amritsar Mr Bindra holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the prestigious Goldman School of Public policy, Berkeley, California.

He is also the recipient of many honors & awards and has represented India at various international fora, including Inter-Governmental Meetings, International Conferences and Seminars.
