Laurus Labs inaugurates slew of new units in Vizag

The chief minister recently inaugurated a slew of new projects of pharma major Laurus Labs in Visakhapatnam.

Laurus Labs unveiled new units worth a total investment of Rs 1111 crores across 4 projects in and around the city of Visakhapatnam.

An investment of Rs 440 crores was made in a brownfield project wherein the line of activity is formulations and bulk drugs. 

The inauguration of this facility is said to have a plant capacity of 5 billion units per year and is located in APSEZ, Atchutapuram.

Inauguration of Laurus synthesis Pvt Ltd was done with an investment of Rs 191 crores creating employment for 300 people. 

This greenfield project is said to have a plant capacity of 80 tons per annum and is located in APSEZ Atchutapuram.

Similarly groundbreaking was done for Laurus Labs at JNPC, Parwada at an investment of Rs 240 crores creating employment for 450 people.

This greenfield project’s line of activity is said to be bulk drugs and has a plant capacity of 655 tons per year.

Another groundbreaking was done for Laurus Synthesis at JNPC, Parwada at an investment of Rs 240 crores. This plant is expected to create employment for 450 people with bulk drugs as its line of activity with a plant capacity of 80 tons per year.
