NRDC facilitates ToT for low cost medicated sanitary napkins

Tech applied using plant extracts, Aloe Vera & essential oils

Armed with the mission of further boosting women’s health and hygiene The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) recently facilitated the transfer of “NAARI-infection preventing and biodegradable herbal sanitary napkins” to M/s SS Creations (Femigiene).

As per NRDC this cutting-edge technology aims to revolutionize menstrual hygiene of women by offering a natural, eco-friendly and healthier alternative to conventional sanitary products. 

The technology applied is said to be biodegradable, nontoxic and safe to use with no side-effects. This plant based anti-bacterial molecule prevents infection and provides skin hygiene.

This TLA (Technology Licensing Agreement) exchange will be way forward in creating scope of collaboration and opportunities to honour the planet and people to safeguard women’s health, environment, biodiversity and SDGs, said NRDC in a press statement. 

This technology has been developed by the CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), Lucknow while the technology transfer tripartite license agreements were signed & exchanged by NRDC’s CMD, Cmde Amit Rastogi (Retd.), Dr. Prabodh K Trivedi, Director CSIR-CIMAP along & Mrs Tanuja Bhatnagar, Proprietor, M/s SS Creations.
