Pitching for India’s Mega PCPIR

Andhra Pradesh’s commissioner of Industries, commerce and export promotion Mr Pravin Kumar, IAS was recently in New Delhi to woo investors in securing viability gap funding in building the nations largest PCPIR spread across 640 sq. km Addressing the 3rd Edition  Summit on “Global Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturing Hubs in India” (GCPMH 2023) held in the capital New Delhi he highlighted the strengths of Andhra Pradesh i.e. EoDB, the upcoming 3 industrial corridors, plethora of seaports and also sufficient warehouse capacity.

Speaking on the petrochemicals sector Mr Pravin informed the gathering that major oil players such as HPCL, Andhra Petrochemicals, ONGC, BPCL etc. are already operating in this region. 

The state has been looking for an anchor unit for quite some time now which can truly give a fillip to this project. ‘In the next few months we shall hopefully finalize on an anchor unit’ said the commissioner industries. 

In his presentation Mr Pravin highlighted VCIC’s Nakkapalli and Rambilli clusters as one of the crucial regions having sufficient resources to cater to the chemicals sector.

‘The Visakhapatnam Chennai corridor (VCIC) falls in the PCPIR region the largest in the country’ said Mr Pravin and added that AP is also a key link in the national gas grid’ he informed.
