Sai Prasad takes charge as AP’s new Chief Secretary

Senior IAS officer Mr G. Sai Prasad today took charge as the new Chief Secretary (CS) of the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Hailing from Prakasam district and the son of a school teacher, the 1991 batch IAS officer first served as the Assistant Collector of Warangal in the united Andhra Pradesh from 1992 to 1993.

It might be recalled that the state government had made the announcement of his appointment as chief secretary late last year.

Over his illustrious career spanning many years Mr Sai Prasad has also served as municipal commissioner of Guntur, collector of Kurnool and Chittoor, CMD of APEPDCL, CMD of AP central power distribution company, vice chairman of AP housing board and many other such postings.

At the centre he had the opportunity to serve in the energy department.

Prior to assuming the role of Chief Secretary Mr. Sai Prasad, was serving as the Special Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department from June 2024 to January 2025, till he took charge as the new CS.
