Sonowal lauds Vizag Port’s dual rankings

Urges other major ports to follow suit

Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal,  lauded VPA Chairman Dr. M. Angamuthu and VPA team in securing 20th position globally and 19th position in the Container Port Performance Index that have driven the port into new heights of excellence.

In a Meeting held with all Chairpersons of Major Ports and other Heads of Organisations in New Delhi recently, the Minister commended the exemplary leadership and strategic vision of VPA. He directed all Chairpersons of Major Ports to adopt the strategy of VPA for positioning their Organizations globally.

Mr. Sonowal reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting VPA’s continuous progress, stating, “The leap in our global ranking is a direct result of our team’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. 

We will continue to strive for higher standards and further improvements to serve our stakeholders better and to position VPA as a leading Port globally.” 

Deputy Chairperson, Mr. Durgesh Kumar Dubey, IRTS & Secretary Mr Venugopal were also present in the meeting.
