Minister for Industries, Commerce and Food Processing, GoAP, Mr. T.G. Bharat, recently visited Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL) wherein he held detailed discussions with the Directors and senior officials of RINL.

A comprehensive presentation was made to the Minister covering the plant’s evolution, recent milestones, and future roadmap. Mr. Bharat appreciated the efforts of RINL employees and stakeholders in reviving operations and steering the plant towards recovery.

The Minister noted with satisfaction that RINL had significantly ramped up production since September 2024 — progressing from single to all three blast furnaces in operation by July 2025.

He expressed confidence that, with the stabilization of Blast Furnace-3, the plant is well on course to achieve 100% capacity utilization and reclaim its leadership in the steel sector.

He advised RINL to adopt cost-saving strategies, including floating solar power installations and technological de-bottle- necking, to boost operational efficiency.

He also assured full support from the Government of AP. Later, the Minister visited the Model Room and key production units, where he lauded the dedication and commitment of the RINL workforce.
