Records best ever Freight loading & Highest Rev.

The Waltair Division of the east coast railway has ended the current FY 23 on a high.

The division under the leadership of its current DRM Mr Anup Kumar Satpathy achieved the best ever freight loading of 68.12 Million Tons (MT) just days ahead of financial year closing.

As per the division it loaded more than 66.92 MT in the last 11 months and 20 days, which surpassed its best ever loading.

In the last financial year the division had loaded 66.88 MT of freight and 61.17 MT of cargo in fiscal 2020-21.

Similarly the division also recorded the highest ever revenue by crossing Rs 9000 crores just 5 days ahead of closing of the Financial Year.

This is the best ever revenue generated by the blue chip division.

‘This has been achieved in spite of acute shortage of wagons, natural disasters, frequent blocks for carrying safety works in connection with new double line works and major derailments in the critical Kottavalasa-Kirandul line territory’ said DRM Mr Satpathy.

The DRM lauded his team and stated “All the credit goes to my hard working team led by Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and other Branch officers.

Best non fare revenue

The Division also achieved best ever Non-fare revenue to the tune of Rs 5.52 crores in the current financial year, April to March 2022-23.

The Division has surpassed the target of Rs 5.5crores set by the Railway Board 10 days ahead of financial year closing.

This is 71.65% more than the previous year (2021-2022), which was Rs 3.21 crores.
