Waltair DRM meets with Freight Customers

Waltair Division of East Coast Railway convened a meeting with key freight customers and stakeholders recently, at the DRM office in Visakhapatnam.

The meeting chaired by DRM Mr. Lalit Bohra, aimed to explore strategies for enhancing freight traffic, with a particular focus on inputs for improvement in the logistics and transportation.

The meeting facilitated a collaborative dialogue on identifying new revenue streams, optimizing mutual support, and boosting coordination for a healthy freight ecosystem.

Emphasis was placed on effective decision-making, cost-saving measures, and improved rake management. Addressing industry demands, Mr. Bohra highlighted steps being taken, such as the provisioning of additional rakes for transport, acceleration of infrastructure facilities, and operational improvements at railway sidings.

He held elaborate discussions on enhancing coordination, reducing the constraints, time management and effective communication system.

Waltair Division reported a significant 12.25% increase in freight transportation during the first quarter of the current financial year compared to the previous year. Representatives from various cos attended.
