Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister, Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, led a high-profile delegation to Singapore, wherein he along with his core team, was seen making a passionate pitch to investors and organizations to come invest in AP.
This was the CM’s second high-profile business visit abroad after Davos, which he led in January this year.

To begin with, Mr Naidu met with India’s high commissioner to Singapore, Dr Shilpak Ambule, who apprised him of Singapore’s key sectors of focus. Following this, he met Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy and Science & Technology in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan See Leng, to discuss enhanced collaboration in sectors such as green energy, data centres, logistics, and housing.
During the meeting, CM highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s major initiatives in green energy. He sought greater cooperation from Singaporean firms in projects related to green hydrogen, transmission corridors, and port development.
He emphasised the need for Singapore’s participation in establishing data centres and elaborated on the state’s rapid expansion of its port infrastructure.
He also underscored the importance of Singapore’s involvement in human resources, science and technology, and trade collaboration.
Housing Project
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu undertook a detailed two-hour walk-through of the Bidadari Housing Project to closely study its innovative and eco-friendly urban housing model.
During his visit to Bidadari Estate, a development that houses over 10,000 families, Singaporean officials explained to the Chief Minister the “City in a Garden” concept.
This includes design features that preserved mature trees, protected natural water bodies, and emphasized walkability and connectivity.
He invited Singapore’s Housing Development Board to participate as a development partner and shared Andhra Pradesh’s urban vision, strategic goals, and ongoing initiatives.
Global urban infrastructure company Surbana Jurong has expressed keen interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh.
Representatives from the company met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister invited Surbana Jurong to actively invest in large-scale housing construction projects in the state and encouraged them to be a part of the “Housing for All” initiative.
Similarly, Mr Tan Sri Dato’ A. K. Nathan, Chairman and Managing Director of Eversendai Engineering, a leading construction company based in Malaysia, met with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
The discussions centered around setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing factory and an integrated training centre in Andhra Pradesh. The Eversendai Chairman mentioned that they are looking at Visakhapatnam or Krishnapatnam as a potential location for setting up the facility and enabling nationwide distribution of products. The proposed manufacturing unit would span approximately two lakh square meters.
This proposed investment is expected to significantly contribute to industrial growth and generate large-scale employment in the state.
Eversendai also expressed interest in investing in infrastructure projects related to the development of Amaravati, the state capital. Andhra Pradesh Ministers Mr Nara Lokesh, Mr P. Narayana, and Mr T.G. Bharat, along with other senior officials accompanied the CM on the Singapore tour.
